Causes of Anxiety
Determining the specific causes of anxiety is
challenging but most medical experts believe it could be a
number of things such as environmental, genetics, and even
brain chemistry that causes nervous disorders. In addition, the
therapeutic mechanism of drugs that help calm anxiety is also
not fully understood. From what the experts believe, many
different factors play into a nervous disease, which makes
treating the various causes of anxiety symptoms more
challenging. The one thing however is that getting help for an
anxiety is possible and people can have a full recovery but
this requires the right type of drug and therapy.
Experts know that when there are abnormal levels of
neurotransmitters in the brain, chemistry becomes off balanced
and panic attacks occur. With this, information from the brain
goes from one nerve to another, using neurotransmitters. When a
chemical imbalance occurs, the brain is sent incorrect
messages, which could result in a panic or anxiety attack. In
addition to brain chemistry, experts know that another one of
the causes for anxiety has to do with genetics. In fact, people
that have a family history or mental illness are at greater
risk. This means the disposition for anxiety is inherited and
then passed on.
Causes of anxiety can also have to do with some type of
traumatic event. Some people handle trauma with no problem but
others have a more difficult time. Therefore, people that have
sensitivity to trauma might experience stress and anxiety from
job loss, the death of a loved one, divorce, and so on. As
these people peak with stress, the severity of the anxiety
climaxes. In addition, even people that are trying to stop an
addictive drug or alcohol problem are at risk just as people
trying to stop smoking or even cut out foods and drinks
containing caffeine.
Specific to drugs, anyone that has had a problem with
certain drugs to include cannabis or marijuana, Ecstasy, LSD
acid, or amphetamines often struggle with anxiety. Causes of
anxiety on a temporary basis could also be related to
pregnancy. However, this would depend on the person’s
sensitivity, again to stress, and other factors. Sometimes,
just ordinary life is enough to trigger an anxiety attack. This
means that while causes of anxiety often relate to pathological
factors, everyone is susceptible. The good news is that once a
problem is identified, and the person’s health is brought under
control, not only does the body heal, but the mind too.
